Privacy Policy
Morreau Construction Management, LLC ("MCM," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website at morreauconstruction.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly and information collected automatically when you visit the Site.
Information You Provide
- Contact form submissions: name, email address, phone number, project description, and any other details you include.
- Chat widget interactions: messages you send through the on-site AI chat assistant, along with a session identifier stored in your browser's sessionStorage.
- Callback requests: name and phone number submitted through the chat widget callback form.
- Cost estimator inputs: project parameters you enter into the interactive estimator tool.
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data: pages visited, time on page, referring URL, browser type, and device type, collected through analytics software (see Section 5).
- Cookies and local storage: small data files stored in your browser to remember preferences and session state (see Section 6).
2. How We Use Your Information
- To respond to your inquiries, project questions, and callback requests.
- To provide AI-assisted answers through the chat widget on behalf of Ryan Morreau and Morreau Construction.
- To follow up regarding your construction or remodeling project.
- To understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve content and functionality.
- To comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
3. How We Share Your Information
We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: third-party vendors who help us operate the Site (hosting, analytics, AI inference). These providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for their own purposes.
- Legal requirements: if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
- Business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer to the successor entity.
4. Data Retention
Contact form submissions and callback requests are retained for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and for a reasonable period thereafter for business records. Chat session data is associated with a browser session identifier and is not linked to your identity unless you voluntarily provide identifying information in the chat. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at the address in Section 9.
5. Analytics and Tag Management
The Site uses analytics software to collect aggregated, anonymized data about how visitors interact with pages. This data helps us understand which content is most useful and how to improve the Site. Analytics data is not used to identify individual visitors and is not sold to third parties.
Consent requirement: Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Google Analytics 4 (GA4) are not loaded until you explicitly accept analytics cookies via the consent banner displayed on your first visit. If you decline, neither GTM nor GA4 will load during that session or any future session until you change your preference.
Google Tag Manager (GTM): A tag management system operated by Google LLC. GTM itself does not collect personal information, but it loads and manages third-party scripts (such as Google Analytics) that may set cookies or collect usage data as described in their respective privacy policies. You can learn more at policies.google.com/privacy.
Ahrefs Web Analytics: A cookieless, privacy-focused analytics tool that collects no personal data and sets no cookies. It is loaded unconditionally and does not require consent under GDPR or CCPA.
Core Web Vitals monitoring: The Site automatically measures and reports performance metrics — including Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS), Interaction to Next Paint (INP), First Contentful Paint (FCP), and Time to First Byte (TTFB) — to our analytics platform via GTM. These metrics are technical measurements of page performance and do not include any personally identifiable information.
6. Cookies and Browser Storage
The Site uses the following types of browser storage:
- Session cookies: temporary cookies that expire when you close your browser. Used to maintain your session state while navigating the Site.
- sessionStorage: browser-local storage used by the chat widget to maintain your conversation within a single browser session. This data is cleared automatically when you close the browser tab.
- Consent preference (localStorage): we store your cookie consent decision — granted or denied — in your browser's localStorage under the key mc_cookie_consent. This is not a cookie; it is local to your device and never transmitted to our servers.
- Analytics cookies (consent-gated): if you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 and GTM may set first- and third-party cookies to distinguish unique visitors on an anonymized basis. These cookies are subject to Google's privacy policy.
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of certain Site features.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: request that inaccurate information be corrected.
- Deletion: request that your personal information be deleted, subject to legal retention obligations.
- Opt-out of sale: we do not sell personal information, so this right is satisfied by default.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 9. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the Site, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
